MILWAUKEE/NARI MEMBER COMPANIES RECOGNIZED ON NATIONAL LEVEL
May 7, 2010

MILWAUKEE, WI - Two representatives of Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, Inc. member companies were recognized with national achievement awards while three member companies received regional recognition by National NARI at the association’s annual Evening of Excellence™ held Sat., April 10, in Phoenix, Ariz.  The Milwaukee Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), the largest of the 60 local chapters across the country, has been the area’s leading home improvement and remodeling industry resource for more than 48 years.

Tom Feiza, owner of “Mr. Fix-It”, Inc. in Waukesha, received the NARI National Peter H. Johnson Image Award, which recognizes contributions to the enhancement of the remodeling industry’s image.

Milwaukee Millwork and its general manger Greg Adamec received the 2009 Distributor of the Year award, which recognizes distributors who have demonstrated a strong commitment to NARI, the professional remodeling industry, and the communities in which they do business.

In the Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards competition, Brillo Home Improvements, Inc. of Milwaukee won the national award in the Commercial Exterior category. Twenty-six national CotY winners were named at this year’s ceremony.  Preliminary judging took place at the association’s national headquarters in Des Plaines, Ill., in early January, where regional winners were announced in each of the categories. These regional winners advanced as a finalist at the national level.

Mukwonago Remodeling received a regional CotY award in the Residential Interior Under $100,000 category, while Wallner Builders in Butler earned a regional CotY in the Residential Exterior Under $100,000 category.

The Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council was chartered in July 1961, as a Chapter of the National Home Improvement Council.  In May of 1982, the National Home Improvement Council merged with the National Remodelers Association to form NARI ⎯ the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.  With over 900 members, the Milwaukee Chapter is the largest in the nation.

The Council’s goals of encouraging ethical conduct, sound business practices, and professionalism in the remodeling industry have led to the growth of the remodeling industry nationwide and made NARI a recognized authority in that industry.
