MILWAUKEE/NARI REMODELING PROFESSIONALS RECOGNIZED ON NATIONAL LEVEL
April 2nd, 2009
Three member companies of the Milwaukee Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), the area’s leading home improvement and remodeling industry resource for more than 47 years, were named national award winners by National NARI at the association’s annual Evening of Excellence held March 28, in Atlanta, Ga.
In the Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards competition, Bartelt – The Remodeling Resource of Menomonee Falls won awards in the Residential Interior $100,000 and Over and Residential Historical Renovation/Restoration categories, while B & E General Contractors Inc. in Glendale was the winner in the Residential Addition $100,000 to $250,000 category, and Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling of Milwaukee won the Residential Kitchen Over $100,000 category.
These projects, four of 27 awards presented, were selected from amongst winners in seven regions around the country. Competing projects were completed between July 1, 2007 and November 30, 2008 and were not submitted in prior NARI National contests. An impartial panel of judges who are experts within the industry and associated fields, selected winners based on each entrant’s “before and after” photography and project description. Judging was based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.
Preliminary judging took place at the association's national headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois, in early January, where regional winners were announced in each of the categories. These regional winners advanced as finalists at the national level. To be considered, a company must be a NARI member in good standing.
The Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council was chartered in July 1961, as a Chapter of the National Home Improvement Council. In May of 1982, the National Home Improvement Council merged with the National Remodelers Association to form NARI the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. With over 900 members, the Milwaukee Chapter is the largest in the nation.
The Council’s goals of encouraging ethical conduct, sound business practices, and professionalism in the remodeling industry have led to the growth of the remodeling industry nationwide and made NARI a recognized authority in that industry.
